Hail damage rarely shows up as a leak on day one. More often, bruised shingles lose their granules over the following months, and the first sign is a stain on the ceiling long after the insurance window has closed.
1. Check the soft metals first
Look at gutters, downspouts, vents and window wraps from the ground. Dents in soft metal are the easiest evidence of hail size and direction.
2. Look for granules in the gutters
A handful of granules is normal on a new roof. A heavy layer after a storm means shingles have been bruised.
Never climb onto a wet roof after a storm. A pro inspection is free and your safety isn’t worth the risk.
3. Note the date and take photos
Most policies require claims within 12 months. Photos with date stamps make the adjuster’s job easier.

4. Book a free inspection
We’ll document the damage, give you a written report and, if a claim makes sense, meet your adjuster on site.
